Towards a large-scale adaptation and implementation and one of evidence-based primary cancer prevention programmes in Europe and beyond (PIECES)<\/h3><\/div>

The high and increasing global burden of cancer requires the effective implementation of primary cancer prevention (PCP) programs<\/strong> targeting modifiable risk factors. However, despite the existence of effective programs, these often fail in practice due to suboptimal adaptation and implementation strategies that do not respond to the new context. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n

\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/path><\/svg>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\tObjectives<\/strong><\/span><\/div>

The PIECES Project is intended to develop, evaluate and disseminate a cancer-specific methodological implementation framework known as the Integrated Implementation Kit for PCP<\/strong> on six modifiable cancer risk factors: tobacco, alcohol, sun exposure, human papillomavirus, nutrition and physical activity.
PIECES provides an ideal naturalistic laboratory to study and improve the scale-up and implementation of PPC programs.

The main objective of the project is to provide a systematic evidence-based process through a web-based digital tool that facilitates the identification, selection and adaptation of PPC programs, as well as the development of evidence-based implementation strategies that address local barriers and constraints. The tool will provide a comprehensive repository of PPC programs, along with materials aimed at adapting and implementing these programs to the local needs and culture of future implementers. <\/p><\/div><\/div>

\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/path><\/svg>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\tMethods<\/strong><\/span><\/div>

The PIECES Project is structured in two phases:

The first phase is intended to develop the digital tool that will guide the selection, adaptation and implementation of PPC.
The second consists of a comparative case study in multiple locations in 8 different countries to evaluate and optimize the results of adaptation and implementation. In addition, an in-depth realistic evaluation will be conducted that will employ various sociological theories to provide information on the processes through which these results are achieved. <\/p><\/div><\/div>
