Exposure to Environmental Tobacco Smoke in open and semi-open spaces<\/h3><\/div>

There is disagreement about whether or not smoking should be allowed in certain outdoor places. Those who oppose this ban argue that it is ethically untenable and that there is not enough evidence that ETS in these places has a real impact on health to justify such a regulation. However, there is scientific evidence that there is no safe level of exposure to ETS. Therefore, those who agree with the regulation argue that the lack of a ban on smoking in some outdoor areas may expose non-smokers to higher levels of ETS than in indoor spaces where smoking is not allowed. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n

\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/path><\/svg>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\tObjectives<\/strong><\/span><\/div>

Characterize exposure to FAT in different outdoor locations, whether they are open or semi-open spaces adjacent to indoor locations where smoking is not permitted (such as building entrances or bar and restaurant terraces) or other open or semi-open spaces where current Spanish legislation (and that of European Union countries) currently allows smoking.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/path><\/svg>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\tMethods<\/strong><\/span><\/div>

Cross-sectional study of a sample of open and semi-open places (to have some partial coverage) without a smoking ban according to Law 42\/2010. The sample includes accesses to public buildings (n=50), bar and restaurant terraces (n=50), public transport stops (bus, n=50), school and non-school sports facilities (football fields and sports centers, athletics stadiums; n=20) and other complexes (open or semi-open shopping centers, markets, street markets, etc.; n=10). <\/p><\/div><\/div>
