The document details how children\u2019s rights are being undermined in Spain due to exposure to tobacco and the commercial strategies used by the tobacco industry.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The report highlights that the tobacco industry:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>relies heavily on advertising and social media to draw the attention of young people<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promotes new nicotine products designed to appeal particularly to adolescents<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It also describes how industry practices continue to interfere with public health policies and hinder efforts to protect children <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Such actions run counter to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, especially in relation to children\u2019s rights to health, development and protection from harmful practices.<\/p>\n\n<p>In light of these concerns, the signatory organisations urge the Spanish government to <strong>tighten regulations<\/strong> on the advertising, promotion and sale of tobacco and nicotine products, and to ensure that public health policies remain free from industry influence.
