From 1990 to 1994, he was a predoctoral researcher at the Clinical and Molecular Cancer Epidemiology Research Unit (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imim.cat\/programesrecerca\/epidemiologia\/grecm.html\">IMIM<\/a>). He completed a Master\u2019s in Public Health and obtained his PhD from UAB in 1995. He then undertook a postdoctoral fellowship (1994\u20131995) at the Laboratory of General Epidemiology at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marionegri.it\/\">Mario Negri<\/a> Institute in Milan.   <\/p>\n<p>His research has focused on tobacco control, from the characterization of the epidemic to the study of its various determinants (social, price, advertising, industry, etc.) and how to implement preventive and control measures. Similarly, his studies include exposure to environmental tobacco smoke, the use of electronic cigarettes and new tobacco and nicotine products, as well as exposure to aerosols from electronic cigarettes. He is also interested in implementation research in cancer, the teaching of epidemiological methods and scientific writing. He has written <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/myncbi\/1real6dy40B\/bibliography\/public\/?sortby=pubDate&amp;sdirection=ascending\">more than 400 articles<\/a> in peer-reviewed journals. He has been director (2004 to 2010) of the journal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gacetasanitaria.org\/\">Gaceta Sanitaria<\/a> , Vice-President (2013-14) and President (2015-16) of the <a href=\"https:\/\/seepidemiologia.es\/\">Spanish Society of Epidemiology<\/a> and Academic Director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/eur05.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.emsp.cime.es%2Fportal.aspx&amp;data=05%7C02%7Ccfabregasi%40idibell.cat%7C2cd2f6a1bfd2426daef108dc57dfb3e0%7C10ea6ae8fe1541a68ab23e03af324681%7C1%7C0%7C638481865518458571%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=Vt9AZZAsj9cGCQQ9TAhMpuKBBmfvMQPRYl%2BYmaLr%2FZA%3D&amp;reserved=0\">School of Public Health of Menorca<\/a> (2016-2021).
