The European Commission is developing an initiative aimed at improving breast cancer care in Europe. The aim is to establish an accreditation system for screening units and diagnostic services for breast cancer and a platform for clinical practice guidelines for post-diagnostic care units.
For this reason, the Breast Cancer Screening Unit of the Catatán Institute of Oncology presents its candidacy for the pilot study of European Commission accreditation for the screening units.
The objective is to establish a European quality assurance plan in breast cancer care services, which addresses topics from early detection and diagnosis to the care of survivors or palliative care, through treatment and rehabilitation.
