Tobacco control experts gather to share key achievements and challenges in the EU

Since 2022, the Tobacco Control Unit (UCT) has been a partner of the Smoke Free Partnership (SFP), a specialised network of EU and national organisations with technical expertise in tobacco control policy.

On 25-26 June, two UCT members attended the annual meeting organised by the SFP in Ljubljana (Slovenia) to discuss the main achievements of 2024 at national level. Views were exchanged on priority policy and advocacy issues, with a particular focus on the outcome of the EU elections and their implications for tobacco control in Europe. Participants also had the opportunity to attend the workshop “How to communicate better for tobacco control”. The workshop provided theoretical and practical ideas on how to create impactful and effective communication strategies.
