Smoking Cessation Counselling
We help you quit smoking
The ICO-IDIBELL smoking cessation clinic has more than 20 years of experience in the diagnosis, treatment and support of smokers. We offer intensive support for 12 months, with support based on psycho-behavioral therapy and, if necessary, personalized pharmacological treatment.
The ICO-IDIBELL smoking cessation consultation is a specialized service aimed at helping people quit smoking with the help of nurses who are experts in smoking.
The ICO-IDIBELL smoking cessation consultation is aimed at anyone who consumes products with nicotine, whether in the form of cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, heating tobacco or other formats.
They can access it:
– Patients with an oncological diagnosis undergoing treatment or monitoring.
– Relatives of ICO patients.
– Professionals and workers of ICO-IDIBELL.
– General population interested in quitting smoking.
The treatment is based on:
1. Initial individualized assessment
2. Regular follow-up with a nurse specializing in smoking cessation
3. Behavioral and emotional support
4. Option of pharmacological treatment (if applicable), with the completion of the corresponding recipe/prescription.
Visits can be in person or online. This includes video calls, telephone calls and WhatsApp messaging, both proactively (nursing professional – user) and reactively (user – nursing professional).
The ICO-IDIBELL smoking cessation clinic specializes in the treatment of addiction to nicotine and other inhaled substances.
Specifically, they address:
– The consumption of conventional tobacco (cigarettes).
– The use of electronic cigarettes.
– Heated tobacco and other modern forms of nicotine consumption.
– Cannabis consumption, especially when associated with tobacco.
– The combined or alternative use of various smoked products.
The duration of the cessation process can vary depending on the needs and progress of each person. In general, follow-up extends for 12 months from day “D” (first day free of tobacco), with more frequent visits during the first weeks, to offer intensive support in the initial phases of the change, and more spaced checks as the process progresses, focused on maintaining abstinence and preventing relapse.
Before starting the individual detoxification process, participants can attend monthly group workshops with an informative and motivational focus.
These workshops aim to:
– Provide key information about what smoking is, its effects and treatment options.
– Promote reflection and motivation for change.
– Carry out an initial individual assessment using tests of dependence and level of motivation; measurement of carbon monoxide (CO) levels in exhaled air and evaluation of the lung capacity of each participant.
