Degree in Medicine and Surgery from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) in 1983. Master of Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) in 1998. Specialist in Preventive Medicine and Public Health from the UAB in 2002. Epidemiologist for the European Program for Intervention Epidemiology Training (EPIET) in 2004. Doctorate in Preventive Medicine and Public Health from the UAB in the year 2015.
She has worked in epidemiological surveillance, outbreak investigations and communicable disease prevention and control at the UK Health Protection Agency. In humanitarian projects and project evaluations with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and as a consultant on polio eradication with the World Health Organization (WHO). More recently, in Catalonia, she has conducted operational research related to sexually transmitted infections.

 

Currently, she is co-principal investigator of research projects on sexually transmitted infections in primary care at the Catalan Institute of Health (ICS) and the Institute for Research in Primary Care (IDIAP). She participates as a researcher in the Tobacco Control Unit (UCT), in the “Joint Action on Tobacco Control” of the 3rd European Commission program, 2016-2019 located at the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO).
