Luis Alejandro Rodríguez

Project Manager

Luis Alejandro is a researcher with over eight years of experience in public health research across academia and project-based roles. He holds a PhD in Integrated Care and Health Services from the University of Lleida (2025). His doctoral research examined food insecurity and social determinants of health among seasonal farmworkers in Spain.

He has extensive expertise in mixed-methods research and has authored more than nine JCR-indexed publications in the areas of food studies, migration, environmental health, and epidemiology. His primary research interests include the social determinants of health, migration, and health promotion. In 2026, Luis Alejandro joined the ICO Tobacco Control Unit as project manager of the PIECES project, a European Union–funded initiative aimed at developing, evaluating, and disseminating a tool to support the implementation of cancer prevention programs.
