Efficacy of an integrated brief intervention on tobacco and alcohol consumption via the quitline 061 Salut Respon: A Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT)

Tobacco and alcohol are two of the most widely consumed addictive substances and contribute significantly to a high burden of disease and premature mortality. Their combined use increases risks and particularly affects people in socioeconomically vulnerable situations. Despite the support of the WHO, integrated interventions for the combined use of tobacco and alcohol are scarce at the population level and are usually addressed for each substance separately, which limits their effectiveness.
