On 4 December 2026, the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO) will host, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), the 8th ICO-WHO Symposium on Tobacco Control, a landmark event that will bring together health professionals, researchers, policymakers and other experts to discuss the key challenges in tobacco prevention and control.
Under the theme The evolving nicotine landscape: from products and promotion to policy and implementation, this new edition will focus on the changing market for nicotine products, the associated marketing and promotional strategies, and the challenges these developments pose for the design, implementation and evaluation of tobacco control policies.
The symposium continues to serve as a key forum for debate and knowledge exchange among professionals and institutions committed to reducing the impact of tobacco and nicotine use on public health.
