Annual conference of the Global Network for Tobacco-free Health Services in Hiroshima, Japan

On 6 November, the Global Network for Tobacco-Free Healthcare Services (GNTH) 2024 Conference took place in Hiroshima, Japan, as a pre-conference event of the Health Promoting Hospitals Network (HPH Network) International Congress. More than 80 attendees joined in person and online to hear inspiring presentations on key topics such as smoking cessation, prevention strategies and the impact of new nicotine products on children’s health. The Gold Forum event recognised leading hospitals for their outstanding commitment to the international smoke-free hospital project.

Laura Antón, representing the Catalan Network of Smoke-Free Hospitals, presented ‘The inspiring journey of the Catalan Network’, sharing the extensive journey and activities that the Catalan Network has undertaken since its inception.

The members of the 2024 Gold Forum were 15 hospitals from all over the world. The Vall d’Hebron Hospital received this recognition along with 8 hospitals from Taiwan, 1 hospital from Japan, 1 hospital from the Czech Republic, 2 hospitals from Austria, 1 hospital from Germany and 1 hospital from Switzerland.
