Dolors Carnicer-Pont, Armando Peruga and Anna Mar López from the Tobacco Control Unit (UCT) attended the final conference of the Joint Action on Tobacco Control 2 (JATC2) in Brussels on 12 and 13 September. Three years after its kick-off, the European partners involved in the initiative met for the last time to present the final results of the project.
The Tobacco Control Unit of the Catalan Institute of Oncology participated in this project as the leader of a work package on smoke-free environments and aerosols of tobacco products and on tobacco advertising legislation. Also as national coordinator (competent authority in Spain).
This Joint Action is a joint action project to strengthen cooperation on tobacco control between the Member States of the European Union and the European Commission. From Spain, 6 other entities participate in JATC2, 4 as affiliates (Bellvitge Research Institute, IDIBELL; International University of Catalonia, UIC; National Centre for Smoking Prevention, CNPT; Porque nosotros sí, XQNS) and two as collaborators (Ministry of Health and Nofumadores.
