Researcher at the Tobacco Control Unit of the Catalan Institute of Oncology, WHO Collaborating Center for Tobacco Control. Associate Professor at the Public Health, Mental and Maternal and Child Health Nursing Department of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Barcelona. Member of the Tobacco Control research group of the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute and of the Smoking Working Group of the Spanish Society of Epidemiology.

Graduated in Psychology from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso in Chile in 1998. Doctorate from the University of Barcelona in 2011. She worked in clinical and community psychology in psychological assessment and psychosocial intervention with vulnerable groups. She later began her research training and joined the Tobacco Control Unit in 2004.

Her research areas are the epidemiology, prevention and control of tobacco and electronic cigarettes, as well as the measurement of their passive exposure. She also teaches undergraduate and continuing education classes. His scientific contribution includes a hundred indexed articles. She has participated in several national and international competitive research projects.
