The Tobacco Control Unit (UCT) participated this Saturday, June 14, in the new edition of Sinergia , the open doors of the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL) and the Bellvitge health campus with the support of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat. This event aims to explain the science that is done at IDIBELL in order to bring it closer to the public and to involve the residents of L’Hospitalet in the science that is done in the city with proposals aimed at families, the elderly and young people.
The residents of l’Hospitalet attended a scientific workshop organized by the UCT in the Parc de Bellvitge, where they were able to learn about the levels of carbon monoxide in their lungs and their lung capacity , in addition to receiving useful information to quit smoking . All of them were offered the possibility of registering for the informative workshop organized by the unit to motivate them to quit smoking and begin a process of quitting.
Sinergia has the collaboration of entities from the city of Hospitalet such as the Sergio Manzano Municipal Sports Center and the Bellvitge Institute, as well as healthcare institutions such as the Medical Emergency System, the Cancer Association, the Catalan Institute of Oncology and the Bellvitge University Hospital.
