The UCT participates in a meeting with the Ministry of Health to evaluate the anti-smoking plan

The Tobacco Control Unit (UCT) and nearly thirty anti-smoking groups and social and health organisations met on 22nd March with the Minister of Health, Mónica García, to evaluate the Comprehensive Plan for the Prevention and Control of Smoking 2024-2027. The meeting was attended by the head of the department, Esteve Fernández, and the deputy head, Cristina Martínez.

During the meeting, which the Minister described as “very productive”, several objectives were set: to prevent young people from starting smoking, to have a generation free of tobacco addiction, to have more people stop smoking and help them to do so, to have more smoke-free environments and to prevent second-generation smoking.
