Five members of the Tobacco Control Unit (UCT) participated in the XIV Congress of the National Committee for the Prevention of Smoking (CNPT) held in Seville on Friday 14 June. During the event, which was attended by the heads of entities involved in the prevention of smoking, several research projects of the unit were presented.
The researchers Cristina Martínez and Dolors Carnicer gave two oral communications in which they presented the DUCATA project and the Joint Action on Tobacco Control 2 (JATC2) in the European Union. Armando Peruga, researcher and collaborator of the unit, also gave an oral presentation on the ImaginTAB-tv project, which analyses the tobacco content of television programmes in Spain in 2021.
Finally, the UCT nurse and researcher, Marta Enríquez, gave a poster presentation on the DuCATA_GAM-Catalonia study. Anna Riccobene, a nurse specialising in tobacco control at the unit, also attended the congress.
The CNPT is the umbrella organisation of the tobacco prevention movement in Spain, integrated in the European Network for Smoking Prevention, which currently brings together 46 entities, mainly associations of health and medical professionals, as well as some prominent professionals.
