New PhD in the Tobacco Control Unit: Judith Saura Successfully Defends Her Doctoral Thesis on Cannabis and Tobacco Use Patterns and Abstinence.

Tobacco Control Unit researcher Judith Saura defended her doctoral thesis, entitled “Characterization of the pattern of cannabis and tobacco consumption and its withdrawal syndrome in people who initiate treatment for cannabis use disorder in Catalonia” , on June 1 at the Bellvitge Campus of the University of Barcelona. The thesis was awarded an excellent grade.

The thesis was supervised by Dr. Esteve Fernández , Secretary of Public Health of the Department of Health and former head of the Tobacco Control Unit, and by Dr. Cristina Martínez , current head of the unit. The evaluation panel was formed by Dr. Manuel Isorna , the Dr. Miren Idoia Pardavila Belio and the Dr. Montserrat Puig.

From the Tobacco Control Unit we congratulate Dr. Judith Saura for this academic milestone and for her contribution to research in the field of addictions and public health.
