Dr. Cristina Martinez and Dr. Olena Tigova researchers at the Tobacco Control Unit (TCU) of the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), once again took part as lecturers in the course Introduction to Implementation Science, organised by the School of Public Health of Mexico as part of its Public Health and Epidemiology Continuing Education Programme (PASPE).
For the second consecutive year, both researchers have been members of the teaching team for this course, which is aimed at professionals and researchers interested in effectively applying evidence-based interventions in clinical practice and public health. Implementation Science focuses on understanding how to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and its application in real-world settings. The programme combines theoretical content with practical case studies on conceptual frameworks, methodologies and implementation strategies, bringing together experts and participants from different countries.
During the course, Dr Martínez and Dr Tigova shared their experience in the design, evaluation and implementation of public health interventions, helping to strengthen the international profile of the Tobacco Control Unit and reaffirming its commitment to knowledge transfer.
