UCT Strengthens Collaboration with Universities to Promote Smoke-Free Campuses

Researchers from the Tobacco Control Unit (UCT), Olena Tigova and Manuel Badino, participated in the III Congress of Health Promoting Universities, held from November 26 to 29 at the University of Málaga.

This network, which brings together over 50 Spanish universities, prioritizes the implementation and promotion of smoke-free environments on university campuses. This area of work is particularly relevant for the UCT, as a collaborating center of the World Health Organization in tobacco control.

During the congress, Tigova and Badino met with coordinators of the smoke-free campus working group to explore potential collaborations, particularly in the monitoring of compliance with existing regulations.
